Mr. Goodman had been in the usual health and had come to town to see the movie and suffered a heart attack and died before Dr. Marr, could reach his side. The body was removed to the Raynor Funeral Home in Glenwood and funeral services were held in the East Liberty church Monday afternoon at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. I. R. Magers, pastor in charge of the service. Music for the service was furnished by the Misses Isabelle Bird and Josie Kerney with Mrs. R. K. Henderson at the piano. Those serving as pallbearers were Walter Parman, Frank Hettinger, Charles Frazier, Harry Anderson, Harvey Deitchler and Jim Hendrix. The body was laid to rest in the East Liberty cemetery. The following life sketch was read at the service. William Henry Goodman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Issac Goodman, was born in Washington County, Indiana, Jan. 28, 1859 and departed this life August 28, 1942, aged 83 years, 7 months, and 1 day. He came to Iowa in 1888 and settled in Mills county and in 1900 he moved to Woodbury County, and to Silver City 2 and one half years ago where he resided until his death. He united with the Christian Church in his young manhood in Indiana. He was a good and kind neighbor and had many friends. He leaves eight brothers, John T., James D., and Levi M., and Herbert E. of Red Oak, Ia., Isaac Franklin of Illinois, and Charles C. of Silver City, Iowa. Also a sister, Mrs. Ellen Jones of Indiana, and many other relatives to mourn his passing.
