Description	:	"William H. Hamlett Dies at Home" William H. Hamlett, 80 years old, a former mayor of Alderson, died at his home there Saturday morning. He had been an invalid for the past four years. Funeral services were held at the Hamlett home by Rev. Randolph Johnson, and interment was made in the Baptist church cemetery. Hamlett, 80 years old, a former mayor of Alderson, died at his home there Saturday morning. He had been an invalid for the past four years. Funeral services were held at the Hamlett home by Rev. Randolph Johnson, and interment was made in the Baptist church cemetery. Mr. Hamlett was a native of Nelson County, Va., who came to Alderson in 1892. For a number of years he operated a jewelry store there and later, before retiring, operated the Alderson Planing Mill. He served three terms as mayor of Alderson, beginning in 1910. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Lusk of Alderson, a sister, Mrs. Susie Wright, and a son, Lee Hamlett, both of Lynchburg, Va. 'The Leader" (Hinton, West Virginia), Thursday, April 10, 1947
