Mrs. Harris preceded her husband in death some 15 years ago. Surviving are two sons, Carlton, of La Crosse, and W. G. Harris of Denver, Colo., and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Halden, of Denver, Colo. Henry Harris, son of John Harvey and Matilda Streepy Harris, born April 22, 1858, at Unionville, Ia., departed this life Dec. 30, 1943, at La Crosse, Wisc., at the age of 85 years, eight months and eight days. He was struck by an automobile Dec. 20, 1943, and from this accident did not recover. He was united in marriage to Clara I. Green, Nov. 10, 1881, who preceded him in death by 15 years. He leaves to mourn his passing two sons, Carlton of La Crosse, Wisc., W. H. of Denver, Colo., one daughter, Bertha Halden, of Denver; three granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. He spent the major portion of his life at Cincinnati, from 1864 to 1925, then he lived at Denver until May 1943, when he went to La Crosse to live with his son Carlton. Funeral services were held from the Christian church in Cincinnati, Sunday afternoon with H. E. Trimble officiating. Burial was in the west cemetery at Cincinnati.
