Kinsley was born at LeGrange, Indiana on May 15th, 1858 and passed away at the Methodist hospital in Sioux City where he had been taken for treatment on Tuesday, March 12, 1929. He being at the time of his death 70 years, 9 months and 27 days old. Mr. Kinsley was united in marriage to Miss Emma Seitzinger on January 26, 1879 and to this union were born six children, Arthur of Onawa; and Mrs. Paul Bower, of Sioux City, the only two to survive. Those proceeding their father in death were Mrs. Herman Cooper, Mrs. Frank Strunk, Miss Ora Kinsley and one child dieing in infancy. Besides Arthur and Mrs. Bower, Mr. Kinsley leaves to mourn his death his loving and devoted wife, three sisters, Ida Strunk of Camden, Mich, Catherine Rathbun, of Ray, Indiana and Margaret Berry of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also one brother James Kinsley of Whiting, ten grand children and six great grand children. Mr. and Mrs. Kinsley came west four years after they were married, making their home in Whiting and Onawa communities. The last twenty years residing in their home in North Onawa where they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary only last January. Mr. Kinsley united with the M. E. church at Whiting in 1890 and later his membership was transferred to the local Methodist church of which he was a member until his death. Those who knew Mr. Kinsley have words of the highest appreciation for him as a husband, father and neighbor. While he had been sick for some time, no one thought the end was so near. He slipped quietly and peaceably away as the result of complications which developed from an early attack of the influenza. Mr. Kinsley was one of those men who has watched with much satisfaction the many wonderful improvements which had taken place since his coming to this vicinity. He was a man of honest and kind dealings, one who made friends and enjoyed their acquaintances. In the death of Mr. Kinsley, Onawa has lost one of its best citizens. The funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon from the local Methodist church with the Barnard Funeral Directors in charge and Rev. Zabilka, pastor to the family officiating. Interment is being made in the Whiting Cemetery.
