Description	:	Highland Recorder August 17, 1906: DIED FROM WOUND: Mr. William McNett of Trimble, an account of whose misfortune was referred to last week in our columns, died on Thursday evening. It will be recalled that his little grandson Stuart Dickson, accidentally discharged a Winchester shot gun, the load entering Mr. MeNett's hip. It will be recalled that his little grandson Stuart Dickson, accidentally discharged a Winchester shot gun, the load entering Mr. MeNett's hip. Mr. MeNett, while not a native of this county, has resided in Highland for many years. He was a U. S. pensioner & his wife Anthea McNett was a daughter of Wm. S. Thompson, Esq. He was a clever, inoffensive citizen, quiet and highly esteemed by all who knew him. His wife & three children survive him Mrs. C. A. Dickson. Mrs. William Armstrong & Mr. Jack MeNett, the last named being employed in Bath & not reaching home until after his father's death. The funeral service was conducted by the pastor of the Adventist church of which he was a member & he was laid to rest in the old Thompson burying ground on Jackson's River. The Highland Recorder May 26, 1939 edition, list him as a Union soldier.
