Husband of Lavina Randall Riggs, married November 7, 1872 in Jefferson county, Iowa. --------- Fairfield Daily Journal Saturday February 12, 1916 Pg. 3 Col. 2 WILLIAM RIGGS PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY Word has been received here of the death of William Riggs of Udell which occurred yesterday morning after an illness of some time with Bright's Disease. Mr. Riggs formerly lived near Libertyville, moving to Udell about two years ago. The remains will be brought to this city sometime Monday and will brobably be interred near Libertyville, no arrangements having as yet been made for the funeral. Mr. Riggs was about 70 years of age and is survivied by his wife and the following children: Fay, Charles and Carl of Libertyville, Earl and Lloyd who are in the west and Roscoe of Udell and Mrs. John Coleman of Richland. Many friends here will extend sympathy to the sorrowing family who are well known here. ------------- Batavia News February 17, 1916 (Page # uncertain due to layout formatting of microfilm images) Col. 3 The short funeral of Wm. Riggs, who died at Udell, was held at the home of C. W. Riggs, Tuesday forenoon at 9:30. Interment was made at Batavia. ------------- Children of William Henry Riggs and Lavina M.
