Mr Stanley was a prominent in Tekamah business affairs for many years. For a long time he had his shoe repair business in the Chas. MacDonald store and he later went into business in the late M.D.Willert headquarters, where he, with his wife, carried on the harness and shoe repair business. He had a wide acquaintance of friends throughout the entire Tekamah community, who were indeed saddened to know of his passing. William Henry Stanley, youngest son of Martha & Newton Stanley, was born in Tekamah on Feb 1,1887, and passed away at the Fred Martin home in Edmonds,Wash., June 17,1946. Mr Stanley was married to Mattie Stombaugh in Tekamah on January 26,1921. In Feb,1919, he entered the shoe and harness business in Tekamah and continued with this work until last Sept when he sold the business because of ill health. On Jun 3, Mr. & Mrs. Stanley left Tekamah, planning a ten-month trip, thinking the change and rest would be of benefit to his health. Mr Stanley was a member of the Masonic lodge for many years. He leaves to mourn his passing besides his wife, one son, Clinton, by a former marriage; one sister, Mrs. John Kendall of Tekamah; his aged father-in-law, Mr.Stombaugh,of Edmonds,Wash., nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Burial was in the Tekamah cemetery. Services at the grave were in charge of the Masonic lodge.
