Description	:	William Henry Thompson was born in Lodi, Fountain county, Indiana, April 8, 1858. He lived in the place of his birth until he had reached the age of 30 years. He then moved to Iowa and took up his residence at Unionville working in the timbers in that section. Later he moved to Numa, Iowa, and began to work in the mines. Read More	William Henry Thompson was born in Lodi, Fountain county, Indiana, April 8, 1858. He lived in the place of his birth until he had reached the age of 30 years. He then moved to Iowa and took up his residence at Unionville working in the timbers in that section. Later he moved to Numa, Iowa, and began to work in the mines. On July 29, 1898, he was united in marriage with Miss Sadie Bradley at Numa, Iowa. They lived in Numa until 1908 when they went to the state of Washington where Mr. Thompson worked in the lumber mills for some fifteen years. They then returned to Numa and lived there until 1927 when the moved to Centerville. Mr. Thompson's life work was in coal mining, timber cutting and lumber mills. Mr. Thompson began the christian life when a small boy. He was first a member of the Baptist church. Later after his marriage he united with the Methodist church, first at Numa and after moving to Centerville moved his membership there. Mr. Thompson met with a fatal accident in the mine on Thursday afternoon. A part of the ceiling fell on him, which crushed him, causing instant death. He was in the seventy-third year of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers. He is survived by his widow, and three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are D. W. Thompson, of Oklahoma; U. G. Thompson of Danville, Ill., and Maurice Thompson of Chicago. The two sisters are Olive J. (sic) Hasty of LaFayette, Ind., and Sadie Traylor of Danville, Ill. A wide circle of friends in Centerville and Numa communities sympathize with the relatives in their sorrow.
