Harry Davis Here On Saturday Funeral services for W. Harry Davis, former Nevada man who died at his home at Glencoe, Chicago suburb, Wednesday, February 20 were held Saturday afternoon at the home of his cousin F. M. Boardman, 738 Fifth street, Nevada, with Rev. Jos. M. Kennedy of Central Presbyterian church in charge. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery where two children who died in infancy were buried. Pallbearers were selected from his former business associates in this part of the state, they being R. G. McFarland and R. T. Smith of Tama, Harry F. Child of Ames and C. E. Airy, C. T. Irish and M. A. Hagensick all of Nevada. The body was accompanied out from Chicago by the widow, Mrs. Edith Davis and their only son Gould Davis. Included among the out-of-town relatives here for the services were a sister and a niece from Mason City and a nephew from Valley Falls, Kansas. W. Harry Davis was born and grew to young manhood at Osage, Iowa. He came to Nevada in 188 and entered the employe of Boardman Bros., then engaged in the wholesale produce business here. Here he was married the Miss Edith Lewis and their home continued in Nevada until 1903. He built the home on Eighth street, now owned and occupied by C. E. Airy. After the Boardman Bros. went out of business in 1902 he took a position with the Chicago Mill and Lumber company and later entered business for himself as the representative of several lumber mills supplying the box and container trade. Since leaving Nevada in 1903 the family home has been in or near Chicago, for the past 15 years at Glencoe. His immediate family consisted of his wife and one son, Gould, who lives in Glencoe. Mr. Davis had been in failing health for the past year or more and following a final illness of about two months, passed away at his home at Glencoe on Wednesday evening.
