Description	:	Wm. Henry Walton, third child of David and Rhoda Walton, was born in Sabetha, Kansas, July 16, 1877 and died at his home in Sabetha Wednesday, May 16, 1923, aged 45 years and 10 days. Mr. Walton had been ill about two weeks but his recovery had been expected and his death was a severe shock to his family and friends. Henry Walton, third child of David and Rhoda Walton, was born in Sabetha, Kansas, July 16, 1877 and died at his home in Sabetha Wednesday, May 16, 1923, aged 45 years and 10 days. Mr. Walton had been ill about two weeks but his recovery had been expected and his death was a severe shock to his family and friends. Henry Walton had spent practically all of his life in the Sabetha community. A short residence in Harbine, NE and in Portland, OR were the only times he was away from the community. While his parents lived he wanted to be near them for he was devoted to them. He was married to Miranda Nickels January 31, 1900. To this union were born two children, Grace Olive, who died May 31, 1919: and Daniel who lives at home. Mrs. Walton died January 31, 1918. October 7, 1920 Mr. Walton was married to Elsie Gertrude Boettcher of Holton, who survives him. Their brief but happy married life was spent in the beautiful Kellastone bungalow which Mr. Walton built just before his marriage and where he departed this life. He is also survived by his son, Daniel, a grandson, Paul Alfred Blough, the child of the deceased daughter, Grace Walton Blough; and the following brothers and sisters: Moses Walton and Edwin Walton, Sabetha; Mrs. Dollie Massey, San Francisco, CA; Mrs. Lydia Nickels and Mrs. Jessie Hart of Portland OR and Mrs. Clara Reed, Connell, Washington. Mr. Walton was a member of the Baptist church. He was a sincere Christian and loyal to his faith, which was reflected in his daily life in the home and in business affairs. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and a firm adherent to its principles of benevolence and brotherhood. The members of the order attended the funeral service in a body and six of them acted as pall bearers. Since early youth he has been ambitious and faithfully applied himself to his work. He was a contractor in concrete and stone work. He was always anxious to please and was highly regarded by his employers and fellow workmen. He was a quiet, unassuming man who met life's duties and problems courageously. His first interest was always his family and his home and he did his best to make his home the happy place it was. He contributed to community life in personal service, clean living and upright influence. His friendship was genuine and stood every test. As a neighbor, he was loved and honored. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. T.P. Stewart of Robinson, an old friend of the family, assisted by Rev. W.M. Elledge. A quartet, composed of Mrs. A.J. Haxton, Mrs. W.H. Durstine, Frank Hill and F.T. Deaver, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", "Lead, Me Gently Home, Father", and "Sometime, We'll Understand". The pall bearers were Robert Henry, Byron Sheldon, James Porter, Ranz Fletchall, Arthur McNary and Charles Meisner. Assumed from the Sabetha Herald
