Description	:	William Homer McRobert, 56-year-old Piercy resident, was killed instantly in a logging accident Monday two miles southwest of Phillipsville. He was born in Midland, Mich., March 2, 1900, and resided in southern Humboldt County for the past 12 years. He was a mechanic, millwright and lumber mill operator. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nina J. McRoberts of Piercy; two sons, Clarence McRoberts of Midland and Donald McRoberts of Rohnerville; a daughter, Mrs. Luella Dockham of Carlotta; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Lee McRoberts of Midland and Alfred McRoberts of Smyrna, Mich., two sisters, Mrs. Eva Randall of Lyons, Mich., and Mrs. Pearl Church of Midland; also many nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral arrangements have been set for Friday at 1:30 pm. in the Chapel of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary. The Reverend Raymond L. Neal will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rohnerville Masonic Cemetery. Compilation of funeral notices published in The Times Standard on October 31 and November 1, 1956 ____________________________________ William was the son of Viola C. Marsh and David Sidney McRoberts; brother of Alfred Leland (1914-1999), Scott Clayton (1904-1949), Eva M. (abt. 1907), Alice Pearl (1909-1977), Lewis (abt. 1915-?) and Ruby Eveline (1916-1922) McRoberts. At the time of the 1910 census, the family was living in Geneva, Midland County, Michigan. In 1920, they had moved to St. Louis, Gratiot County, Michigan. William's first wife was Myrtle Hale. She had been previously married to Ernest Marsh and they had two children, Clarence and Louella Marsh. William and Myrtle were married on May 4, 1924, in East Lansing, MI. In 1930 and 1940 they were living in Midland, MI. They had one son, Donald McRoberts. It appears that William may have adopted Clarence and Luella as Clarence's Michigan death record and SSDI record list him as Clarence McRoberts.
