William Howard Collins was borne June 20, 1936 in Yake, OK to Clint & Joyce (Yelverton) Collins. Bill grew up in Okemah and graduated from Okemah High School in 1954. Bill joined the United States Marine Corp after his graduation in 1954 and earned the Expert rifle marksman award during his service. Bill attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in in Geology. He was united in marriage to Audrey Lammers on December 21, 1956, in Hooper, NE. They were blessed with three children, Tracy, Kathy and Bill. Bill's work in the oil industry took them many places. The family lived in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Early in Bill's career, he worked for many oil companies including Mobil Oil and Continetal Oil. He later started Benchmark Geophysical with his brother-in-law Bob Cruce. In 1973, they moved to Edmond where they lived for many years and where their children attendend school. They later moved to Tulsa, where he and Audrey made their home. Later in life Bill did some independent consulting. Bill was a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, reading, and square dancing. His work and family gave him the most enjoyment in life. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Sauls and husband David; Tracy Fritts and husband Terry; one son, Bill Collins and wife Delilah; four grandchildren, Matthew Sauls, Garrest Sauls, Sophie Collins and Alex Collins, two sisters, Nancy Weaver; Barbara Cruce; sister-in-law Donna Collins; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Al Croson; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Patty Lammers; sister- in-law, Sharon Lammers; many nephews, nieces, great nephew, great nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clint and Joyce; wife Audrey; one sister, Shirley Smith; one brother Jim Collins; nephews, Tommy Weaver and Corey Croson.
