Description	:	WILLIAM J DEVLIN LONACONING - William James Devlin, 86, of 9 High St., Lonaconing, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born March 12, 1912, in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late Terance Devlin and Nannie (Symons) Devlin. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, John, Henry, Ignatius and Joseph; and three sisters, Anna V. Devlin, Ellen Goldsworthy and Alice Steele. Mr. Devlin was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lonaconing, and also St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Barton. He was a retired coal miner and retired Street Superintendent, Lonaconing. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, and Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are a sister, Bernadette Brown; and a brother, Thomas P. Devlin, both of Lonaconing; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Rosary Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Lonaconing. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Barton, or to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lonaconing.
