Mr. Walsh enjoyed good health until two years ago when he was taken sick of neuritis. He was treated in both Rochester, MN and Iowa City, IA but to no avail. Read More	Obit from a local newspaper-Word came from Iowa City of the death of William Walsh, a pioneer settler of this place. Mr. Walsh enjoyed good health until two years ago when he was taken sick of neuritis. He was treated in both Rochester, MN and Iowa City, IA but to no avail. William Walsh was born on the Lizard (creek). He lived with his parents on a farm suffering the hardships and disadvantages of pioneer life in an unsettled country. He attended school in Lizard township. Married Margaret Leonard at Barnum June 21, 1899. They made their home on a farm in Lizard Township. To this union eleven children were born, one son, James Leland, dying in infancy. The children who suffer the loss of their father are, Vitalis, Loretta, Mrs. Bruce Hughes (Loretta), Vincent, Ann, William, Charolotte, Francis, Leonard and Lorraine. Also survived by one grandchild, Beverly Hughes, two sisters, Mary Walsh and Mrs. James (Rose) McCreary, and one brother Thomas. About 1918 he took up the grain and livestock business in Pioneer, IA and continued this until his health began to fail. Although he had been in failing health for two years he was a most patient sufferer, a man of wonderful spirit, never complaining and a good citizen.
