Read More	William John Kelly November 5, 1943 - November 20, 2014 LaVale--William John “Bill” Kelly, Jr, 71, of LaVale passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Western Maryland Health System. Bill was the son of the late William John and Virginia (Minnicks) Kelly. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Allegany High School. He received his AA degree in 1968 from Allegany College of Maryland, and his Bachelor's Degree in History from Frostburg State University. He later received his Master's Degree in Education from the University. “Bill” was a History teacher at Ridgeley High School. He worked as a supervisor for the Cumberland and Hagerstown offices of Maryland Jobs Services for over thirty years. He retired in 2006. Bill was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and he was Air Force Veteran who served from 1961 through 1966 where he had obtained the rank of Sergeant. While in the Air Force, Bill served in Viet Nam, Germany, Greenland, and Alaska. His final assignment was in Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton Beach, FL where he met his wife Annette (Odom) Kelly. Annette passed away in 2007 after she and Bill had been married for 46 years. He is survived by his son, William John Kelly, III and wife Jamie, Cumberland; two grandchildren, William John Kelly IV and Kayla D. Kelly, Cumberland; special relative, Krystal Mallery and husband Scott, Mt. Savage, as well as their family, Nicole, Addison, and Colby. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Greg Chervenak, O.F.M., Cap. Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Park. Those wishing to honor Bill's memory in lieu of flowers may make contributions to their favorite charity.
