Description	:	JEFFERSON, S.D. -- William John Curran, 90, of Jefferson died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Jefferson. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson, with the Rev. David Roehrich officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8:30 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel. Mr. Curran was born Nov. 18, 1911, in Jefferson, the son of James and Kathryn (Enright) Curran. He attended Gibson Elementary School and graduated from Jefferson High School. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. He married Clarice Bosse on Feb. 16, 1942, in Jefferson. He farmed in the Jefferson area his entire life. Mrs. Curran died Dec. 6, 1993. He retired in 1994, but remained involved with the farm until his death. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and South Dakota Farmers Union. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Austin of Fresno, Calif.; and nieces and nephews, Michael and Judy Curran of Elk Point, S.D., Kathleen and Peter Fitzpatrick of Danbury, Iowa, Patricia and Dave Sackett of Grants Pass, Ore., Lawrence and Sharron Gill of Gold Canyon, Ariz., Margaret and Dick Dailey of Jefferson, Martin Bosse of North Sioux City, Nancy Forney of Templeton, Calif., William Thomas of Los Angeles, Calif., Linda and Mark Snauffer of Fresno, Gary and Lori Austin of Fresno, and Lare and Karen Austin of El Segundo, Calif. He also was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Margaret Bosse, Mary Gill and Catherine Thomas; three brothers, James, Joseph and Lawrence Curran; and two nephews, James Gill and James Tobis.
