Description	:	William John Marson was born to John Marson and Anna Gergen Marson on April 12, 1890, at Shickley and passed away on October 10, 1980, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 90 years. He was one of eight children in the family. He was graduated from automobile mechanics school February 7, 1916 at Kansas City, Mo., and later opened a mechanics shop in Shickley. Read More	William John Marson was born to John Marson and Anna Gergen Marson on April 12, 1890, at Shickley and passed away on October 10, 1980, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 90 years. He was one of eight children in the family. He was graduated from automobile mechanics school February 7, 1916 at Kansas City, Mo., and later opened a mechanics shop in Shickley. He served in the armed forces during World War I, and was honorably discharged in February 1919. Upon returning from service he began farming in Fillmore County and farmed until his retirement in 1956, when he and his wife moved to Geneva. He was a devoted father and grandfather and enjoyed being with his family. He was married to Marcella K. Sullivan of Geneva on April 14, 1920, and to them seven children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife Marcella, his parents, brothers and sisters. Mr. Marson enjoyed good health until the last year and one-half prior to his death. Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. Doris Brosius, Mrs. Kathryn Murray, Mrs. Wilma Miller, Mrs. Wilmetta Roth, Mrs. Victoria Mulvey, Mrs. Frances Domenico, and Mary Marson; 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Military service was conducted by the Sloan-Bolton Post No. 68 of Geneva. Pallbearers were grandsons, Stanley Miller, William Miller, John Brosius, Kevin Mulvey, Steven Murray and Tim Roth. Services were held October 13, 1980, at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph's Catholic church. Burial was in the St. Joseph's cemetery. The Nebraska Signal October 1980.
