Breed Died, at his home in this city on Tuesday morning, January 15, 1901, at 2 o'clock of lung trouble, Mr. W.J.Breed. William Judson Breed was born at Breedstown, Venango county, Penn. on March 5, 1858. He was therefore 42 years 10 months and 10 days old at the time of his death. He received his education at Titusville and the state normal at Edinborough, Penn., and graduated at Eastman's Business College at Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and came west and settled in Iowa about 20 years ago. He became a man of broad acquaintance, having acted in this capacity of principal of the Edgewood High School and also taught in different schools of the community. Later he conducted a mercantile business in this city. Mr. Breed was a man of high intellect and by his unwavering adherence to principle of right and justice in addition to his natural goodness of heart won for himself a universal friendship. He was married to Miss S. Jennie Alcorn on Dec. 27, 1881, and to them were born three children, Arthur L., Leora, and Lottie A. all of whom are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. The funeral was held at the Congregational church today at 10:30, Rev. L. Hubbell officiating. His two brothers, James and Charles of Titusville, Penn., came a couple of weeks ago and were present at the time of Mr. Breed's death - Edgewood Journal The Manchester Democrat, Manchester, Iowa January 23, 1901
