He was born Feb. 8, 1936, to the late Joe and Vesta Dinsmore in Athens. He went to school in Athens before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1954. Read More	Daily Post Athenian Sep 29, 2011 William "Ken" Dinsmore William "Ken" Dinsmore, 75, of Lewistown, Mont., a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, died of pneumonia on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at CMMC Hospital in Lewistown. He was born Feb. 8, 1936, to the late Joe and Vesta Dinsmore in Athens. He went to school in Athens before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1954. He worked as a carpenter in the Air Force and later became part of the Red Horse Squadron. In 1957, he married his first wife, Ramona Revira, in Idaho. They later divorced. He served in Vietnam, Thailand, Johnson Island and stateside. In 1974, he retired as a technical sergeant after 20 1/2 years of service. After retiring, he worked at Bob's Transfer and Storage in Great Falls, Mont., and then went to work for Howard's Pizza. He started as a delivery person, became a chef and then opened his own Howard's Pizza in Lewistown in 1987. He retired in 1999. On Feb. 14, 1981, he was united in marriage to Shirley McLaughlin-Bowen in Great Falls. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and coffee klatches at McDonald's. He was an avid Yankees and Dodgers fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his faithful companion, his dog, Brandy. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nita Dinsmore; his stepmother, Esther Stephens; one brother, Bob Dinsmore; two brothers-in-law, Tom McLaughlin and Aaron McLaughlin; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Bell and Sharon Sides. Survivors include his wife, Shirley McLaughlin-Bowen Dinsmore of Lewistown; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Debbie and Bob Hinkle, Mary and Dennis Duffy, Cindy and Kent Butterfield, Kim Reuter and Robin McGurran, all of Great Falls, and Julie and Jerry Robbins of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Therese Bowen of Seattle, Wash.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Jimmie Bledsoe, Velma and Dale Hixson and Glenda and Sammy Swafford, all of Harrison, and Kitty and Larry Watkins of Kentucky; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Dorothy Dinsmore of Fruitvale, Texas, and Vernon and Devra Dinsmore of Georgetown; three brothers-in-law and their spouses, Patrick and Nancy McLaughlin of Ellensburg, Wash., Michael and Ruth McLaughlin of Great Falls, and Mark and Diane McLaughlin of Billings, Mont.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Ken, though you were a man of few words, you showed your love in many other ways. We will miss you! Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at O'Connor Memorial Chapel. Burial of the ashes will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Gift of Life Housing or TCF of Central Montana, 823 W. Corcoran, Lewistown, MT 59457. O'Connor Funeral Home of Lewistown, Mont. is in charge of arrangements. Great Falls Tribune October 7, 2011 The 2 p.m. memorial service at O'Connor Funeral Home for William "Ken" Dismore of Lewistown has been postponed, due to the death of his wife, Shirley Dinsmore, Thursday morning. Services will be rescheduled and announced by O'Connor Funeral Home. Ken Dinsmore, 75, died of pneumonia Thursday, Sept. 29, at Central Montana Medical Center in Lewistown.
