| Description | : | William Lee Amoss was the son of Garrett & Ruth Amoss of Mt. Soma Farm in Benson, Harford County, Md. Mr. William Lee Amoss was appointed in June 1896 to be the first Director of the Farmers' Institute of The Maryland Agricultural College (now the University of Maryland). Mr. Amoss retained that position until September 30, 1910. Mt. Soma Farm is one of the old Harford homesteads. Here in the family burying ground is the grave of William Amos, dated 1750.
