Farrar of Portland, OR, Marilyn Raines of Chelan, WA, Judy Brezina of Carlton, WA, and Deborah Brandenburg of West Richland, WA; and son, Billy Brandenburg; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland. Frances Mary Felts Chelan Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend… Frances M. Felts, a 60 year resident of Chelan, passed away Dec. 30, 2005, at the age of 93. Frances was born Oct. 20, 1912, to Jennie L. (Meanor) Fore and Grover B. Fore in the small town of Loomis, WA. After residing in Conconully until 1916, her family relocated to Okanogan. In 1932, Frances wed William L. Felts of Okanogan, eloping on New Year's Eve. Being that her father was the county clerk and issuer of marriage licenses in Okanogan, Frances and William thought it best to rouse the "assistant" clerk from bed to obtain their license to marry. After 13 years together in Okanogan, the couple moved to Chelan, where William became employed in construction. Meanwhile, Frances spent the next 13 years working for the Valley Evaporating Plant. Her additional places of employment included Highland House, Campbell's Resort, and various fruit warehouses until her eventual retirement in 1981. Born with a heightened enthusiasm for travel, Frances visited both the eastern and western Mediterranean, New Zealand, Australia, multiple trips to the Caribbean, as well as travels through the Panama Canal and the Orient. She delighted in her grandchildren, adored gardening, and had a passion for stamp collecting. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary for 35 years and could always be counted on to partake in the festivities, such as dances and card parties. In addition, she belonged to the Women's Bowling Association for nearly 22 years. She absolutely loved to bowl and did just that until her health no longer allowed her that luxury. Always graceful in life, she faced each obstacle in stride with her sunny smile and pleasant disposition. Survivors include her three daughters, Lorene Farrar of Portland, OR, Marilyn Raines of Chelan, and Judy Brezina of Carlton; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and a very close sister, Eleanor Holt. There are no words to express how very much she will be missed by her family and her friends. In particular, Marilyn, for she and Frances shared a unique bond that is rarely found between a mother and daughter. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and unconditional love were just a few of the priceless gifts she blessed upon those who knew her. Farewell for now, Frances… this is one trip you are certain to enjoy. Graveside Services will be held in Okanogan on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Paul Palumbo officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
