Former Clinton County Supervisor Passes Away Friday Night. Low Moor. Aug 28 - William Lincoln Dannatt, 72, former Clinton county supervisor and prominent Clinton county farmer and business man, died at 7 p. m. Friday in his home here after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday in the Methodist church and burial will be in Rosehill cemetery, Camanche. The body will repose in the home here after Sunday afternoon. Mr. Dannatt, son of John S. and Emily Dannatt, was born May 14, 1865, in Eden township. When still an infant his family moved to Camanche township. He married Miss Jessie May Smith, daughter of Col. John Henry Smith, May 12, 1886. To them were born four children. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. F. C. Anthony, Camanche; Mrs. F. E. Conover, Low Moor and Mrs. D. D. Offringa, Waverly; five grandchildren, Dwight Dannatt, Davenport; Mrs. F.A. (Ruth Conover) Papritz, Culver City, Calif; Robert Anthony, Camanche; Jean and Richard Offringa, Waverly and one brother, E. G. Dannatt, Ames, and three sisters, Mrs. A. P. Barker, Clinton; Mrs. E. G. Cady and Miss Nettie Dannatt of Camanche. One son, Louis, preceded him in death. As a farmer Mr. Dannatt engaged in the raising of purebred red polled cattle. In the fall of 1899 he moved he moved to Low Moor where he and his brother, A. A. Dannatt, engaged in the grocery, livestock and grain business. Served as Mayor - He was actively interested in church, fraternal and civic affairs. He was a member of the Methodist church here and was affiliated with Low Moor lodge 395, I. O. O. F., Endeavor lodge, 610. A. F. and A. M., and De Molay consistory, A. A. S. R. Masons, of Clinton. He served in early days as secretary of the Clinton County Farmers Institute and served Low Moor as a councilman and also as mayor. He was elected supervisor of Clinton county in 1926 and served six years in that office.
