Sapp, ages 55 & 54, who owned a farm. They had been married 2 years; Edna had given birth to a son, Frederick who was 2 months old. James & Sarah had been married 29 years; she had given birth to 2 children, but only one was living, William. Another member of the household was a servant, Ella Murse, age 16. ----- The date William & Edna moved to WA with his parents is unknown. However, their daughter, Mary, was born in WA in 1906. Centralia News Examiner Wednesday, June 23, 1909 Country News Kopiah "Mrs. William Sapp, who has been spending some time here with Mr. Sapp's folks on account of the poor health of her husband, returned last Tuesday to their place of business, as Mr. Sapp felt he was able to work again." "On May 16, 1910, William L. & Edna, ages 33 & 22, lived in Skookumchuck, Lewis, Co, WA with his parents, James W. & Sarah A., ages 65 & 63 who owned a farm. William & Edna had been married 12 years; she had given birth to 5 children, but only 4 were living. William's parents had been married 39 years; his mother had given birth to 2 children, but he was the only one living. William was helping his father farming. Children of William & Edna were James F. (Frederick), age 10; Leland A., 8 (born in IN); Mary S., 4; & Sarah E., 2 (both born in WA). ----- William, age 44, & Edna were living in Centralia on K Star Route where he was self farming when he registered for the WWI draft on Sept. 12, 1918. Those who enjoyed the feast were Mr. and Mrs. Will Sapp and daughter, Ethel, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sapp and family, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham of the city, Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Dasher and little twin girls from Portland., Mr. and Mrs. Chas. The plot will be planted to potatoes and other root crops, which will be distributed next winter by the welfare committee. A similar plot of 2 1/2 acres on West Main street, donated by W.L. They had a son, Howard Taft Joy, born about 1909 & who married Mary Randlett in August 1927. She had been widowed since some time before 1930. News about their marriage was published in the Centralia Daily Chronicle on Monday, July 16, 1934. His new wife, Sapp - Joy Two pioneer residents of Centralia were united in marriage when Mrs. Mary Louise Joy, 312 North Washington Avenue, became the bride of William L. Sapp, 1219 West Main street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Marion McQuary of the first christian church Saturday evening at his home at 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Sapp's brother-in-law and sister, Mrs. J.M. Wetzel of this city, were present to witness the rites. Mr. and Mrs. Sapp will continue residence in Centralia where many friends join in extending congratulations." (Mary Louise) Sapp, 73, a resident of the city for 45 years. Mrs. Sapp, born March 1, 1882, in Fairfield, Iowa, was a member of the Christian church and of the Daughter of the American Revolution. Surviving are the husband at the family home at 1219 West Main street; son, Howard Joy, Olympia; three stepsons, Fred Sapp, Castle Rock; Lee, Centralia, and Robert Sapp, Olympia, and three stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Dasher, Portland; Mrs. Edith Benjamin, Centralia, and Mrs. Ethel Clark, Everett. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m., at Newell-Hoerling's, Centralia, with the Rev. Glen Mell officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View." Sapp, 88, a resident of Centralia for 60 years, died Sunday at a McKenna nursing home, following a lingering illness. Mr. Sapp, born Oct. 1, 1873, in Hamilton county, Ind. was a member of the First Methodist church in Centralia. Survivors include three sons, James E. Sapp, Castle Rock; Lee A. Sapp, Centralia, and William R. Sapp, Tumwater; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Dasher, Battle Ground; Mrs. Lloyd Benjamin, Centralia; Mrs. John Clark, Everell; a foster sister, Mrs. Ellen Towner, Centralia; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., at the Sticklin Funeral Home in Centralia. The Rev. Clinton Aiton will officiate, and interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial park."
