Description	:	William Luther Martin (known as Luther), was the son of Thomas Riley Martin and Eunice Louisa Scott. He was raised in Washington County, Indiana, but headed west with his parents as a young man. He participated in the land run opening the Cherokee Strip in NW Oklahoma. His father was a Church of Christ minister and performed his two marriages. First to Hullena "Lena" Elise Meyer. Divorced in 1915 in Enid, OK. Second to Mabel St Clair Washburn in 1918. Luther worked in several fields in his life. Some of which were a grain elevator operator in Burlington, Alfalfa, OK.; first county attorney of old Woods County, Oklahoma; grocery store owner in Springfield, Missouri. The marriage records for William Luther Martin are recorded in the day book of Thomas Riley Martin, Church of Christ Minister in Oklahoma Territory. The day book is located in Waukomis, Oklahoma, with the descendants of Naomi Ruth McCord Lovell, who was a grand daughter of Thomas Riley Martin.
