Bill met his wife, Trudy in Creston, Iowa, where they both attended high school. They moved to Cedar Rapids after the first birth of their first child, Alan. A loving family man, bill spent most of his 42 year career as a service mechanic traveling the world for Iowa Manufacturing. He also served on the board of the company’s credit union. Bill also worked part-time as a security officer for various business and events. Bill loved to fish, so the family went camping on a regular basis. For years he and Trudy traveled to Minnesota with friends to catch their limit. Bill enjoyed friends and family and didn’t pass up the opportunity to tell stories and jokes. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Sophia, a sister, Charlene (Harrison) and his son, Alan.
