Lucy gave birth to 13 children: Gelonzo Wyatt, Nora Marie, Willis Hiram, William Hamilton, Jr., Elsie Evelyn, Wodem, Dora Luella, David Aldon, Earl Edward, Charles Austin, Walter Lee, Bernard Cole, & Virginia May. William, age 42, & his wife, Lucy M., were living in White Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier Co, WV on Sept. 12, 1918, when he registered for the WWI draft. He was working for Anthony Creek Lumber Company as a fireman. His birthday was shown as Jan. 12, 1876. His physical description was medium height & build, brown eyes & dark hair. It was signed William Sizemore. ON APRIL 14, 1930, William & Lucy Sizemore, ages 54 & 39, were renting a home on Big Draft Road in White Sulphur Springs District, Greenbrier Co, WV. Their children were Dora L., age 16; David A., 14; & Earl E., 12, Charles A., 10; Walter L., 8; Bernard C., 6; & Virginia M., 4. They were living in White Sulphur Springs when he died at 3 a.m. on Feb. 1, 1931, from complications of Typhoid Fever and Lobar Pneumonia. He had lived 55 years & 20 days. Gilbert Reynolds was the informant on his death certificate. William was buried in Eagle Cemetery located in Crag, Greenbrier Co, WV. ----- William's widow, Lucy, married Emery Preston Rutherford. She lived to be 85 years old. Her obituary was published in Beckley, WV in the Post Herald Register on Saturday, October 4, 1975. "Rites Set For Woman White Sulphur - Mrs. Lucy Sizemore Rutherford, 85, died Thursday in a Fairlea hospital after a long illness. Born July 15, 1890, in Greenbrier County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey A. and Mary Elizabeth Perry Reynolds. She was a member of the Free Holiness church at Caldwell and the Ladies of the church. Survivors include her husband, Emory Preston; six sons, Willie H. Sizemore of Conowingo, Md., David A. Sizemore and Walter L. Sizemore, both of White Sulphur Springs, Edward C. Sizemore of Wood River, Ill., Charles A. Sizemore of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Bernard C. Sizemore of Baltimore, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Coleman of White Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Marie Hannah of Darlington, Md., and Mrs. Virginia Webb of Covington, Va.; 31 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Gene Sizemore and Rev. Russell Spence in charge. Burial will be in Watcoat Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers."
