Posted: May 31, 2016 Rogers Family Mortuary William (Bill) Michael Worker, 85, passed away Saturday, May 28th, 2016 at the Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte Colorado surrounded by his family. He was born October 2nd, 1930 in Del Norte, Colorado to George and Eleanor M. Budde Worker. William married the love of his life, Evelyn Stoeber, on August 21, 1951 in Monte Vista, Colorado. Bill spent most of his life in agriculture. For many years he was the Warehouse Manager for Center Potato Growers co-op. He was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed working in his shop creating solutions for everyday problems, planning family events, volunteering at church and the Kiwanis Club. Bill has joined his wife Evelyn, his daughter Audrey Worker, his parents, 4 brothers, and his son-in-law Jim Phillips, in his heavenly reward. He was Dad and Grandpa, moral compass and spiritual guide. A never ending source of love and encouragement, his pride in his family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his children; Wanda (Vic) Parks, Vicky Phillips, Barbara (John) Howard and Virginia (Ernie) Myers, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grand children,1 great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Friday June 3, 2016 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Vigil Service with recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7pm on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Rogers Mortuary in Monte Vista. A visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Rosary, starting at 6pm. Cremation will take place following the service, and a private family committal service will be held at a later time in the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Center Kiwanis Club in care of the funeral home office. Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista is in care of the arrangements.
