| Description | : | William fought in the battle of Brice Cross Roads near Gunn Town Mississippi he was with the 4th Iowa Calvary. He lost his life and it's not known exactly where he is buried. Many of the dead were buried in mass graves on the battlefield ,some were removed in later years and were buried at the National Cemetery in Memphis.
