Description	:	Immigrated to Adelaide Township Ontario in 1836 or 1837 from Ireland. Served in the British Army from 1793-1814 and fought in the Napoleonic Wars. 1st Battalion, 11th Regiment of Foot. Fought in the battles of Bussaco and Pamplona in the Pyrenees and lost his left arm in Pamplona Battle. Awarded British Military Pension. He was a farmer in Ontario. He was an early settler in Adelaide and well respected in the community per historical documentation of the area. All 7 children were born in Ireland. Son John born 1828, married Eliza Kimball, died in 1863 Wiscoy, Winona. Daughter Maria married Richard Bateman and is buried in Follett, Lipscomb, Texas. Findagrave mem. 66876284 listed as 'Mariah'. The area around the two stones is slightly depressed for a larger area then just where the two stones are. There were more burials there than are recorded, the church held recordings are for the stones only, and many stones are gone. William's does say Late 11th Reg foot and aged 73. Died June 29, 1857. The seven's on both William and daughter Dinah's stone are very oddly drawn so they look like twos. But they are sevens. Dinah died July 23, 1857. It is likely that wife Rachel is buried here with William and Dinah.
