Description	:	William N. "Bill" Walker, 85, of Cozad died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Meadowlark Pointe in Cozad. He was born March 10, 1924, in Cozad to David and Edith (Porter) Walker. On Oct. 3, 1948, he married Myra Franzen in Gothenburg. Survivors include his sons, Grant Walker and his wife, Nancy, of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Kerry Walker and his wife, Peg, of Parker, Colo.; brother-in-law, Bill Rice of Cozad; grandchildren, Ash, Joshua and Hope; former wife, Myra Walker of Kearney; life-long hired man and friend, Eugene Smock and his wife, Judy, of Cozad; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good... On Oct. 3, 1948, he married Myra Franzen in Gothenburg. Survivors include his sons, Grant Walker and his wife, Nancy, of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Kerry Walker and his wife, Peg, of Parker, Colo.; brother-in-law, Bill Rice of Cozad; grandchildren, Ash, Joshua and Hope; former wife, Myra Walker of Kearney; life-long hired man and friend, Eugene Smock and his wife, Judy, of Cozad; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. He attended rural school in the Cozad area. He and Myra were married at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. They made their home in Cozad where Bill farmed southwest of town. He was a member of the Cozad Elks Lodge 2250. Bill was a dedicated farmer who took a great deal of pride in his work. He loved his job and all that it entailed. He especially enjoyed sharing his passion for farming with the young men that worked for him. He enjoyed tennis in his younger years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vern Walker; and sisters, Neoma Peterson, Vera Dutton and Leota Rice. Published in the Kearney Hub from 2/13/2010 - 2/15/2010
