Description	:	William Neibauer, 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Sunday, Oct. 14., 2001, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. William was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Laurel, to Henry and Suzanna Margarita (Gratwohl) Neibauer. William was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Laurel, to Henry and Suzanna Margarita (Gratwohl) Neibauer. He was raised west of Billings on the family farm and assisted with the farm during his father's illness. On Feb. 18, 1940, William was united in marriage to Bertha Walter in Laurel. William worked various jobs at the flour mill. He was also an equipment operator for Barry O'Leary and a mechanic for Pointer Willmont, assembling trailers for the Army during World War II. In 1945, William started his own business, Neibauer Construction Co. From a hand shovel and flatbed truck, the business grew into a family business, doing both residential and commercial excavation, involving his son and grandsons. William was recognized for his attention to detail in his equipment and perfection in his work. He was a member of the local Operators Union 376 and lifetime member of Pilgrim Congregational Church. He graciously donated his time and equipment to building renovation and maintenance of the church. William enjoyed working in his yard and was particularly proud of all of his trees. He enjoyed fishing and family vacations to Yellowstone Park. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bert; all of his brothers and several sisters. he is survived by sons Jerry (Kathy) of Billings, Bill, Jr. of San Pedro, Calif.; daughter Sandra (Tom) West of Billings; grandchildren Mark (Tish) Neibauer, Jeff Neibauer, Pam (Curt) Tucker, Kristen (Steve) McGarrah, Tim (Hannah) West, Tom (Joni) West; eight great-grandchildren, Jennell Neibauer, Cody, Jeremy, Tyler and McKenzie Tucker, Kendra and Kolby McGarrah, Zachary West; and several sisters. The family would like to thank all the caregivers and friends that have helped William, particularly Brenda, Nadina and Dawn, and the caring and supporting staff of St. John's Lutheran Home. A special thanks to Pastor Dave Dickbernd of Pilgrim Congregational Church and Pastor Jeff Olsgard of St. John's for all their care and support in our time of need. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 16, 1 to 5 p.m., and 5 p.m., at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Pilgrim Congregational Church. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
