Description	:	CHEROKEE, Iowa -- William Eubank and Phyllis Tryon Eubank, of Cherokee passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 in Cherokee. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Quimby United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carolyn Hollar officiating. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery, with graveside military rites by the Quimby American Legion. William Nelson Eubank was born in Washta, Iowa on July 16, 1928, to Nelson T. Eubank and Francis Needs Eubank. He grew up in the town of Washta and graduated from Washta High School in 1947. He worked for Simonsen Industries for 47 years retiring as the production manager at Simonsen's Manufacturing. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He worked as part of the Army Corps of Engineers in the repair of the dikes in Holland after the great flood, receiving a commendation from the Queen of the Netherlands for his service. He was active in his community, serving as a Boy Scout Leader, volunteer fireman, fire chief and member of Lions Club International. -------------------
