It was the third tragic death in Mrs. Hicklin's family. Her mother, Erma Howard, was killed in a car-truck collision near Delta 12 years ago and her father, the late Ed Howard, was in a wheel chair for several years as a result of that accident. Last spring Ardith Ann Howard, daughter of her brother, Warren Howard, was killed in an automobile accident near South English. Hicklin was the son of Sam and Rosella (should read Drusilla) Hicklin and was born August 23, 1910 at Rose Hill. Mrs. Hicklin was born here June 18, 1915. They leave three children, Richard, 18, Linda, 13, and Keith, 11. Hicklin is also survived by his parents, now living in Oskaloosa; three sisters, Mrs. George Rankin (should read George Rank) of Deep River, Mrs. Ruby White of Calf., and Mrs. Vaughn Venthuysen ( should read Forrest Van Benthuysen) of Ontario, Canada; five brothers, Cloyd of Barnes City, Clelan of New Sharon, Dale of Oskaloosa, and Theodore and James of Ontario.
