Description	:	William Neville was a pioneer of York county and a highly honored citizen of McFadden Township. He was born in King's county Ireland and came with his parents to Canada when three months old. His father died in Rodden Canada in 1871. As a young man William and his older brother John, came down to Rutland, Vermont and found employment in the marble factory, where they worked long enought to provide a home a bring the rest of the family to Rutland. The family consisted of the mother and nine children. They... Read More	William Neville was a pioneer of York county and a highly honored citizen of McFadden Township. He was born in King's county Ireland and came with his parents to Canada when three months old. His father died in Rodden Canada in 1871. As a young man William and his older brother John, came down to Rutland, Vermont and found employment in the marble factory, where they worked long enought to provide a home a bring the rest of the family to Rutland. The family consisted of the mother and nine children. They later moved on to Troy, New York and worked in the lumber mills there. Eventually, they moved to Green Bay Wisconsin, each time sending for the family, when they had a home estrablished. From Green Bay they came to Crete, NE, which was as far as the railroad ran at that time in the State. However, they walked from Crete to York county in 1874 and worked until they were able to purchase railroad land in McFadden Township nine miles southeast of York, where they settled with the mother and family. William farmed there until his marriage to Miss Mary McMahon in 1889. They established their new home a mile from William's parental home on Section 2-9-2 McFadden Township, whre they both spent their remaining days. In my research I discovered that William was not born in Ireland, but on board the William D Sewall. Abraham and Margaret Neville brought their two daughters and Margaret gave birth at sea. There were 15 babies born on that voyage. The other 2 sons Joseph born 1841 and John born 1847 were left behind in Ireland. They both came to America later.
