He was the husband of Dorothy (Walker) Hershberger who passed away January, 2005. Born in Sugarcreek, Ohio May 29, 1916, he was the son of the late William O and Mary Ann (Miller) Hershberger. William graduated high school in Walnut Creek, Ohio and received an electrical engineering degree from Valparaiso University in Indiana. He was the husband of Dorothy (Walker) Hershberger who passed away January, 2005. Born in Sugarcreek, Ohio May 29, 1916, he was the son of the late William O and Mary Ann (Miller) Hershberger. William graduated high school in Walnut Creek, Ohio and received an electrical engineering degree from Valparaiso University in Indiana. He was employed for 30 years the Voice of America, serving in Munich, Germany and Washington, DC. Surviving is one daughter Theresa (Hershberger) wife of Bruce Pepperdine; two granddaughters Lisa (Pepperdine) wife of Lt Col Brian Davis, and Amy (Pepperdine) wife of Matthew C Wolf; seven great-grandchildren, Stephen, Emily, Daniel, and Philip Davis, Peter, Alex, and Catherine Wolf. A brother Clayton Hershberger, husband of Eileen, and sister-in-law Marilyn Hershberger and many nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by four brothers, Cloyse, Dennis, Paul and David, and an infant sister. Mr Hershberger was a member of the First Baptist church of Alexandria for over 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc, the Academy of Model Aeronautics, serving on the AMA Frequency Committee, and a member of the FCC Amateur Radio Commission Services. ****************** William O Hershberger.
