A Combat veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division and jumped over Normandy the day before the June 6, 1944 invasion. He survived The Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne and fought with the 101st to Berchtesgaden. He achieved the rank of Sergeant First class and was awarded the Bronze Star.
