Dead on arrival at 5:37 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital were William Otis DePriest, 78, and his wife, Grace Ola, also 78, of 203 S. Boeke Road. Both were killed in a truck-car crash on U.S. 41 North. The DePriests died of skull fractures and internal injuries, according to the coroner's office. State police and sheriff's deputies said DePriest pulled out from a restaurant on the highway about five miles north of Evansville, and into the path of a tanker truck driven by Raymond Banks, 43, of Mount Carmel, Ill. Banks escaped injury. DePriest apparently was looking for the crossover on the highway and apparently failed to see the truck loaded with diesel fuel, authorities said. No tickets were issued in the crashes. DePriest was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Brewery Workers Union. He had worked at the old brewery for 35 years. He owned and operated the DePriest Lawnmower Shop at his residence after retiring from the brewery. Survivors include one son, Cloyd, of Chandler; one daughter, Mrs. Floradell Bourenville of Wayne, Pa.; three grandsons, Jack DePriest of Newburgh, Steve and Ronald Bourenville; four step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. DePriest also is survived by one brother, Omer, of Bloomington, Ind., and one sister, Mrs. Delta King of Princeton, Ind.
