Description	:	Long time Electric City resident William Otto Palmer Jr., passed away on Monday, August 25, 2008. Born November 24, 1930, to parents William O. Palmer Sr.(1896-1984) and Blanche Palmer (1905-1965) at Ellensburg, they moved to Wenatchee in 1937 and came to Lone Pine in 1941. He attended sixth grade at Nespelem, then attended Coulee Dam Schools. Bill enlisted in the Navy on September 21, 1948, and served aboard the destroyer, U.S.S. Read More	Long time Electric City resident William Otto Palmer Jr., passed away on Monday, August 25, 2008. Born November 24, 1930, to parents William O. Palmer Sr.(1896-1984) and Blanche Palmer (1905-1965) at Ellensburg, they moved to Wenatchee in 1937 and came to Lone Pine in 1941. He attended sixth grade at Nespelem, then attended Coulee Dam Schools. Bill enlisted in the Navy on September 21, 1948, and served aboard the destroyer, U.S.S. Taussig, for four years during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on September 4, 1952. He married Doris E. Horton (1933-1992)on January 31, 1953, in Electric City. They were married for 40 years. He joined the Operating Engineers in 1962 and worked construction as a heavy equipment operator for 26 years. He went to work for the USBR as an equipment/crane operator at Grand Coulee Dam in 1988 and retired in 1992. Bill was a great artist and enjoyed many hours with his creative hobbies. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, hiking, rockhounding, taking pictures of wildlife and nature. Bill also loved music and spent many hours playing with and entertaining family and friends. He is survived by his special loving partner, Barbara D. Trotter, at the home; two daughters: Teresa M. (Bill "Buzz") Miley of Electric City and Connie A. (John) Butorac of Kettle Falls; four grandchildren: Dustin Miley, Jennier Miley, Ryan Butorac and Chad Butorac; three great-grandchildren: Mikayla Miley, McKenna Miley and Collin Moomaw Miley; one brother, Stanley E. (Shirley) Palmer of Everett and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris E. Palmer and his parents William and Blanche Palmer. Graveside/memorial services will be held for family and close friends at Spring Canyon Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at 1 p.m.
