William Dinges was born October 11, 1902 in Sac County, the son of Peter and Mary Langin Dinges, and lived most of his life in Sac county. He resided in Lake View for the past 28 years. His early years were spent on the farm. He married Matilda Snyder of Wall Lake on February 17, 1931 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wall Lake. Mr. Dinges worked for the City of Lake View for 12 years and worked for the Iowa Liquor Commission for the past 12 years. He is survived by his wife, Matilda of Lake View; five daughters: Mrs. Kenneth (Donna) Brinker of Auburn; Mrs. Kenneth (Mona Lou) Pugh of Lake View; Mrs. Wayne (Ruth) Mohr of Sac City; Mrs. Ronald (Alice) Harmeyer of Lohrville; Mrs. Roger (Patricia) King of Sac City; and one son, Donald Dinges of Sioux City, and twenty-six grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters: Mrs. Helen Bengford of Odebolt; Mrs. Herman (Mary) Bengford of Carroll; Miss Florence Dinges of Carroll; Mrs. Esther Clark of Carroll; Mrs. Dick (Rita) Zerwas of Westside; also four brothers: Joseph of Odebolt; Vincent of San Francisco, Calif.; Leonard of San Diego, Calif.; and Lawrence of Denver, Colo. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Alice and Pauline; three brothers, Leo, Clement and Paul; a son, David; and three deceased grandchildren. SOURCE: The Lake View Resort - 2/28/1973
