Description	:	WILLIAM P. SCHENKELBERG SR. CARROLL - Mass of the Christian Burial for William P. Schenkelberg Sr., 90, of Carroll, a local inventor and 36-year implement dealer, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Church with the Rev. Mervin Hood officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. He died Nov. 29 at his home in Carroll. Rosaries will be at 3 and 8 p.m. today at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll, with the Knights of Columbus conducting the latter rosary. A scriptural prayer service is planned at 8:45tonight. Gift bearers will be Benet and Brea Snyder and Kara and Tricia Nees. Survivors include sons Al Schenkelberg, and his wife, Virginia, of LeMars, Paul Schenkelberg, and his wife, Gloria, William L. Schenkelberg Jr., and his wife, Jean, and Marvin Schenkelberg and Larry Schenkelberg, all of Carroll; a daughter, Mrs. Al (Donna) Snyder, of Carroll; a brother, Ben Schenkelberg, of Carroll, and sisters, Ann Hausman, Barbara Schmitz and Lavine Paige, all of Carroll; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Frances McGrane, his second wife, Sophia Schmitz, one grandson, Scott Schenkelberg, one granddaughter, Sondra Dalton, two brothers. John Schenkelberg and Henry Schenkelberg, and five sisters. Sister Matilda (Mary), Sister Zelma (Catherine), Gertrude Tiefenthaler, Helen Hargrafen and Elizabeth Schenkelberg. William Schenkelberg was born Aug. 26, 1987, at Halbur, a son of Peter W. and Mary Janning Schenkelberg. He attended school at St. Augustine's in Halbur. He married Sophia Schmitz on April 24, 1923, at Mapleton, with the Rev. Lambert Schenkelberg officiating. In 1943 he founded the Schenkelberg Manufacturing Co. manufacturing farm equipment attachments that he invented. Among the many items he invented were corn planter hitches, self-unloading wagon boxes, harrow eveners and boat trailers. In 1951 he founded the Schenkelberg Implement Co. and in 1952 he purchased the John Deere franchise. He opened the John Deere Implement Dealership in Denison in 1956. Schenkelberg Implement Will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 1st in honor of William P. Schenkelberg Sr. who passed away Nov. 29,1987. TWIT FUNERAL HOME A Family Serving Families William P.
