Description	:	WILLIAM PAUL SNEDEKER On July 23, 1899 William Paul Snedeker was born to Frank A. and Janette Snedeker on a farm 5 miles north of Kearney, Nebraska. Some time thereafter, they moved to Kearney where Mr. Snedeker was employed at a store. Paul was educated in the Nebraska public school and the State Normal and Teachers College at Kearney. However, about 1912 the family moved back to the farm where he helped with the farming and cattle raising operation while continuing his education at Kearney Teachers College. Some time thereafter, they moved to Kearney where Mr. Snedeker was employed at a store. Paul was educated in the Nebraska public school and the State Normal and Teachers College at Kearney. However, about 1912 the family moved back to the farm where he helped with the farming and cattle raising operation while continuing his education at Kearney Teachers College. In 1920 Paul met Clara Ethel Stephens who was attending Kearney State Teachers College. Clara was born on October 14, 1897 to Rufus Wilford and Berthena Stephens at Knobnoster, Missouri. William Paul Snedeker and Clara Ethel Stephens were joined in marriage by the Reverend McCormick at the parsonage August 1st, 1922 at Kearney, Nebraska. Their children are Donald C., Robert W., Janice L. Magee, Juanita Carson, deceased, Wm. P., Jr., and Adah Mae Fix of Wray Colorado. Employment with the J C. Penney Company started September 10, 1923-30 as assistant store manager. He was transferred to Yuma, Colorado January 1, 1930 and remained as store manager until retirement in 1960. In 1962 he was appointed Justice of the Peace of Yuma County, also Municipal Judge of the City of Yuma. He was a member and secretary of the Yuma Chamber of Commerce, seventeen years active member of the Yuma Volunteer Fire Department Past Master of the Yuma Masonic Lodge, Past Patron of the Yuma Eastern Star Lodge, President of the Board of Yuma Federal Credit Union 5 years, Board Member of the Yuma County Selective Service Draft Board no. 26, Treasurer Salvation Army Service Fund 20 years, Chairman Red Cross Fund Drive West Yuma County, and a Charter Member of Yuma Rotary Club. Clara was a 50 year member of Easter Star and a Past Matron. William received certificates of service on the Yuma County Draft Board from President Nixon and Governor Love of Colorado.
