| Description | : | "Note: Squire Perkins' stone has "Murdered by the rebels..." as does Simon Snyder (his brother in law) along with a friend, Clint Roe. They were killed in "Cherry Bottom" in south Campbell County near Coal Creek what is now Lake City, by a firing squad of confederate soldiers, accused of "bushwacking". Wm. Perkins, Squire's father, went and took him and Simon Snyder and I'm sure Clint Roe back to Jellico and reburied them. They are buried in "Jellico Cemetery".
