Read More	The Winfield Daily Free Press Winfield, Kansas Friday, November 20, 1914 Page 1 Winfield Man Died Suddenly This Morning W.P. Demoss, a farmer living on the farm of Dr. J.O. Strother, near the Tunnel Mills, dropped dead at an early hour this morning. He was in the process of buidling a fire when death, thought to be due to heart failure, overtook him and he fell lifeless to the floor. He was found at once by his wife, Mrs. May Demoss. She at present is almost in a state of collapse, due to the shock of her husband's sudden death. Mr. Demoss came to Winfield about three years ago. Besides his wife, Mrs. May Demoss, he leaves two sons, Donald, aged eight and Clarence, aged five. He had not complained of feeling out of the ordinary and last night he and his family had attended church in Winfield. He was a man of middle age, being about 45 years old. No arrangements have been made as yet for the funeral or burial and will not be announced until the arrival of kinfolk. A brother, Charles Demoss, of Larned, Kans., is expected to arrive tonight, and other relatives tomorrow. The Winfield Daily Free Press Winfield, Kansas Tuesday, November 24, 1914 Page 5 The funeral of W.P. Demoss, who died suddenly on Friday, Nov. 20, was held Sunday afternoon at the Christian church. The services were conducted by Rev. R.W. Gentry and Rev. C.E. Olsen. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Lawson Race, Mrs. M.E. Bunten, Mano Morris and O.A. McNabb. Burial was in Union cemetery. A number of relatives came from a distance to attend the funeral. They are still here, with the exception of Mrs. Eunice Demoss, who has returned to her home in Garnett, Kansas. Others who are here are Horace Demoss of Colorado City, Col., C.W. Demoss of Garnett, Kansas, brothers, of W.P. Demoss and Fred Winslow and Mrs. W.F. Branson of Whitmore, Mo., brother and sister of Mrs. Demoss.
