William Preston Tish was the son of William Walter Tish and Lucille Mae Snook Tish. He was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1978. Bill furthered his education at Marshalltown Community College and Iowa State University before receiving his degree in TV repair from Lincoln Tech in Des Moines. He was married to Trudy Herr on November 7, 1986 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They were blessed with a son, Trenton and a daughter, Jodi and made their home in Grinnell. Their marriage later ended in divorce. Bill operated and later owned the family business, Tish TV until his health declined in the last year. He was an outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting. In the winter months he enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He was an avid Iowa State Cyclones and Chicago Cubs fan. He was a family man and a friend to many. His family and friends will remember him as being compassionate, caring, stubborn, loyal, and for being one of the best cooks around.
