Description	:	William Perry Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Williams, was born near Hesston, Kansas, February 19, 1873, and passed away at 10:45 p.m., March 31, 1941, at the Axtell Christian hospital, at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 12 days. With the exception of five years spent in Oklahoma, near Billings, from 1906 to 1911, Mr. Williams had spent his entire life in Harvey county, and was thus a real pioneer of this community. With the exception of five years spent in Oklahoma, near Billings, from 1906 to 1911, Mr. Williams had spent his entire life in Harvey county, and was thus a real pioneer of this community. He was married to Miss Etta Lyon on January 1, 1902, at White Rock, Oklahoma. To this union were born three children: Harold Williams of Enid, Oklahoma; Mrs. Cora Berger of Burrton, Kansas; and, Ralph Williams of the home. Mrs. Williams passed away on August 1, 1906. He was married to Miss Maggie Lentz on October 7, 1908 at Enid, Oklahoma. To this union were born four children: Mrs. Ruth Funk of Newton, Kansas; Mrs. Alma Koeneman of Newton, Kansas; and, Frank and Dorothy of the home. Besides his wife and seven children Mr. Williams is survived by two brothers, Alfred and John of Newton and 10 grandchildren. Two brothers, Harry of Newton, and Ward of Argonia, Kansas preceded him in death. He was converted and became a member of the Methodist church at Hesston, Kansas, in 1914. Later he removed his membership to the Methodist church at Walton. On April 4, 1937 he became a member of the Newton church of the Nazarene, and continued a loyal and beloved member of this church until the time of his death. His fine spirit and Christian character were appreciated by his pastor and fellow-members. Besides his immediate family, he is mourned by a large number of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 3, 1941. A brief service was held for the immediate relatives at 2:00 p.m. at Moody’s Funeral Chapel which was followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. at the Nazarene church with Reverend Vernon L. Wilcox, and Reverend T. F. Franklin officiating. A mixed quartette from the Nazarene church composed of Mrs. C. G. Hornbaker, Mrs. S. R. Oliver, Frank Quiring and C.G. Hornbaker sang “Jesus Savior. Pilot Me”, “Rock of Ages” and “Sweet Bye and Bye”. They were accompanied by Mrs. E.P. Robertson. Pall bearers were Henry Heatwole, P.C. Cummings, O.F. Cummings, Albert Steiner, Henry Hansen and August Koeneman. Beautiful floral offerings which banked the front of the church attested the resect and esteem win which the family was held in the community. Interment was made in the family lot in the Pennsylvania cemetery, Zimmerdale, by Rex M. Moody.
