Amsbaugh, 74, retired Milwaukee Railroad employee, died at 1 a.m. today at his home, 922 North Elm Street, following a lingering illness. The son of John and Eliza Amsbaugh, he was born in Wapello County, April 14, 1874. He married Effie Warder in 1898 at Blakesburg. He retired from the Milwaukee in 1938, having worked for that company for 25 years. Previously he had been with the Burlington Railroad. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 9, and the Myrah Rebecca Lodge, No. 41. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Velma Broadfield, Ottumwa; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Suttle, Hattie Amsbaugh and Mrs. Mec Cremer, all of Agency, and a brother, Floyd Amsbaugh, Omaha. His wife died in 1932. The body was removed to the Carroll Reece Funeral Home awaiting completion of arrangements.
