Description	:	Per Billy's death certificate, he never married (although evidence has been hinted at to the contrary). He lived in the Youngs community of Laurens county (R2, Gray Court, SC). He was a farmer and was the son of James Harris (Jim) Garner and his first wife Rebecca Eugenia (Becky) Coleman (I don't know where Becky is buried but suspect it is in one of the unmarked graves at WCBC, maybe near the Garner plots that hold Jim, his second wife, and Billy). He was a farmer and was the son of James Harris (Jim) Garner and his first wife Rebecca Eugenia (Becky) Coleman (I don't know where Becky is buried but suspect it is in one of the unmarked graves at WCBC, maybe near the Garner plots that hold Jim, his second wife, and Billy). Billy died at 6:00p on March 30, 1951 at the age of 80 (although his DC says he was 82) of dilatation of the heart and hypertrophy. His attending physician was W.T. Pace (#8179722), a prominent doctor in Laurens at the time. The informant of his death was J.A. Cannady (James Arch Cannady #78560807), who was the son of Thomas Cannady and Margaret Coleman, making J.A. Billy's cousin. Billy was buried on April 1, 1951 in the Warrior Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Gray Court by Cannon's Funeral Home in Fountain Inn, SC. I remember my great grandmother Janie Garner Owens (Billy's half sister) and my grandmother Lucia Owens Hazel mentioning Billy when I was small. Sadly, Billy died before I was born.
