Bowers, aged 82, died Saturday, March 4, at 4 p.m. at the Sherman rest home, 492 South Second street, where he had been in ill health the past year, and seriously ill for about a week. He was born Sept. 18, 1861, in Licking county, the son of James and Ada (Gosnell) Bowers. His wife, Emma E. Bowers, died Oct. 16, 1926. He was born Sept. 18, 1861, in Licking county, the son of James and Ada (Gosnell) Bowers. His wife, Emma E. Bowers, died Oct. 16, 1926. He had spent his entire life as a farmer in the Fredonia vicinity. He is survived by two sons, Melvin R. of Crooksville, Ohio, and Charles L. of Fredonia; a brother, Clem Bowers of Highwater, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Rhodeback of Johnstown, R.D.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Charles Willard, and an infant daughter are deceased; also a brother, Ora Bowers, and a sister, Mamie Bowers. He was a member of the M. E. church at Fredonia. The body is at the Criss Brothers funeral chapel, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. J. S. Ricketts. Burial will be made in Fredonia cemetery.
