Description	:	WILLIAM R. CUMMINGS Wm. R. Cummings, son of Alex and Harriett Cummings, was born Oct. 20, 1855, on a farm near Bonaparte, and passed away on the morning of May 4, 1932, at the home of his daughter in Keosauqua. He was the eldest of a family of seven children, one sister, Mary, preceding him in death June 17, 1897. On August 24, 1876, he was united in marriage to Alice Peterie, who passed away Nov. 3, 1918. Cummings, son of Alex and Harriett Cummings, was born Oct. 20, 1855, on a farm near Bonaparte, and passed away on the morning of May 4, 1932, at the home of his daughter in Keosauqua. He was the eldest of a family of seven children, one sister, Mary, preceding him in death June 17, 1897. On August 24, 1876, he was united in marriage to Alice Peterie, who passed away Nov. 3, 1918. To this union were born three children, John of Stuart, Iowa, Arthur of Bonaparte and Elsie Rigsby of Keosauqua. Mr. Cummings was a man of very industrious habits and was always busy with the duties of farm life around his home. He had been in failing health for the past two years but during this long period of illness he has been patient, kind and cheerful. He was taken to the home of his daughter last October and all that loving hands could do was done but to no avail. He is survived by three children, four brothers, one sister, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He had been a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge for many years. He will not only be missed by his relatives, but also by a host of friends as he had lived his entire life in this community. Funeral services were held from Story Chapel church Friday afternoon at two o'clock, in charge of Rev. M.E. Hayes.
