Read More	The Belle Plaine Union, Wednesday, June 23rd, 1965 page 7 William Ray Stotelmyre, 70, Belle Plaine, passed away at his home June 15. He has not been in good health for several years. Mr. Stotelmyre was born on a farm south of Chelsea in Salt Creek township, Tama county, on August 18, 1895. He was one of a family of seven children born to Edward L. and Eliza Smith Stotelmyre. He attended Rector rural school with his education completed there. He gave his time to farm work and his life was spent in the Chelsea and Belle Plaine Communities. On April 29, 1918, he entered the armed forces and was assigned to the 359th demolition group. This unit was assigned to Europe. He was honorably discharged on June 16, 1919. On August 24, 1918, he was married to Julia Hach Kaloupek at Cedar Rapids. After their marriage, they operated a restaurant in Chelsea. After 25 years of residence in Chelsea, they moved to Belle Plaine in 1946. While still a resident of Chelsea, he was employed by Chicago and Northwestern railroad and worked with the section crew for this area and continued this work at Belle Plaine until his retirement. He was a member of the Jennings-Bradshaw post of the American Legion at Belle Plaine. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ora (Ada) Roudabush, Belle Plaine; a brother, Edgar, Tama, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Foster (Esther) Hrabak, Fort Dodge; and a stepson, John Kaloupek, Chelsea. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in April, 1962; four brothers, one in infancy, Frank, Elmer and George Stotelmyre, and a stepson, Richard Kaloupek. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at the Hrabak funeral home in Belle Plaine. Burial was in Rector cemetery south of Chelsea. Rev. Alvin Boettcher, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiated. Mrs. Grace Morek was organist. Military services were conducted by Chelsea Benda-Sell Post No. 269.
